What our members say...

"For me, the information provided about changes and trends in the industry that may affect our business directly have been very much appreciated. In addition, we have been able to build business relationships with other members. This seems to be more important than ever, since networking is going to be vital as more companies are becoming regional and national suppliers. --Jose Padilla, Oakland Pallet

WHAT'S NEW!

The Western Pallet Association is a non-profit trade association started in 1974. The Association engages in a number of activities including industry meetings and seminars. Networking opportunities at meetings allow members to make new contacts and develop valuable resources, as well as benefit and profit from the collective knowledge of all the WPA members.

What our members say about WPA....

"The WPA has developed into one of the best sources of information in the pallet marketplace. We look forward to the annual meeting and its roster of quality speakers and the connection with our peers." --Jim Whiteside, Marathon Forest Products

"The Collins Companies, with our new Upper Columbia Mill, which includes a sawmill and pallet and shook operation, look to the Western Pallet Association as an invaluable networking organization to help us enter the West Coast pallet shook market with our Pacific Albus plantation hardwood." -- Lee Jimerson, The Collins Companies

"Membership in the WPA helps us in several key areas. First, the association provides solid and timely information and education via its newsletter, the annual meeting and its membership. Second, it helps us stay connected with current partners through the annual event. Third, it provides a resource for finding good new partners that can help us serve customers throughout the Western US. It is a great value for Pallet Logistics of America." -- Jim Schwab, Pallet Logistics of America

"A long time ago, some of us pallet guys were having lunch in San Jose and in walks a group of canners, our customers. Canners were not very happy with us getting together as a group. I believe this is when WPA came into being. We can now all talk with each other, exchange ideas, socialize, and even help each other in a legal manner. It is my opinion that the WPA is a necessity if you are related to the pallet industry." --Tom Turner, Corresponding Member

"The biggest benefit for me personally has been meeting other members of the WPA. I have made new contacts with manufacturers and wholesalers, as well as customers we are currently doing business with, but never had the opportunity to meet. I have enjoyed going to Rancho the last couple of years, the meetings have been informative, and look forward to more fun in the sun." -- David Card, Combined Transport, Inc.

"The Western Pallet Association is an extremely unique organization. The amount of networking that we do with other members is amazing and very important to the growth of the United Wholesale Lumber Company. Through the friendships made here, we have developed partnerships with our vendors that are imperative to our success. We actually do business with competitors that have been fierce rivals in years gone by. It is my firm belief that we can't put a value on the returns we have received from WPA membership and we are very proud of our affiliation." -- Tom Thayer, United Wholesale Lumber Company

"Industrial Reporting, Inc. has been an active member of the Western Pallet Association ever since we started working with the pallet industry in 1977. Dating back to the early days of the WPA, our company must be one of the longest standing associate members of the WPA. I have found your meetings to be valuable opportunities to get to know the industry in the western part of the country and an excellent venue to develop long standing relationships. Your members are friendly, and your meetings typically contain good information to keep your members informed about issues that are paramount to your geographic region. Thanks for being such good friends to the Pallet Enterprise, Pallet Weekly Profile, and our staff over the years." --Ed Brindley, Ph.D., Industrial Reporting, Inc.

"Used wisely, the WPA will create life long relationships and opportunities that non participants will never receive. The annual meeting allows our company to meet with most of our customers in one location. Talk about savings! The best in the West." --Jeff Calavan, Weyerhaeuser Hardwoods
